Help the orphaned children to return to a normal family life
Every child has to live in the family: in love, respect and care atmosphere.
Only the family atmosphere can provide a child with a chance for normal development and adaption for the life in the society. Only the child living happily today can bring peace to the other people tomorrow. The
future of all society as a whole depends on the conditions children live in. Each child should have a guaranteed right for upbringing in the family surrounding, for protection and equal chances with the others.
These principles are basic for the activity of the Charitable foundation "SOS Children Village" - a member of the largest international non-government charity organization «SOS Kinderdorf International». We support the children in crisis situations. During 58 years the organization implements the unique family form of upbringing children deprived of parental care and left without a family, which has proved its efficiency in 132 countries around the world - SOS Children Village.
The first SOS Children Village in Ukraine is under construction in Brovary town of Kyiv region. Here more than 80 orphaned children will live in 13 family houses under tender care of
SOS-mothers. Now that the construction is still in process the families are created and temporary they are living in the rented apartments in Brovary.
We also preserve and strengthen socially weak families in difficult life circumstances. The foundation supports 600 children from single parent families, families with many children or families with low level of income. Each month sets consisting of food products and personal hygiene products as well as constant psychological and pedagogical assistance provided for the parents help the families overcome the crisis situation and prevent social abandonment when due to unbearable conditions children have to leave their home and become homeless.
