Microsoft will educate children from crisis families to basic computer skills

29 June 2010

Microsoft plans to teach computer literacy to children from underprivileged and crisis families. Microsoft has started working with SOS Children Village in line with the universal educational “IDEA” project (Information Dissemination and Equal Access, www.idea-ukraine.org). The purpose of the “IDEA” project is to teach modern information technology and computer literacy to socially unprotected strata of the population in order to raise their quality of life.

The charity foundation is known not only for creating homes for underprivileged children, but also for helping families that happen to be in difficult life conditions and have a limited earning potential. It is the members of these families who will be able to participate in free computer courses and receive official Microsoft certificates as part of the “IDEA” project. The obtained knowledge and skills will help participants to advance professionally and uncover new opportunities in life.
