SOS Children Village in Ukraine

Representative office of Association “SOS Kinderdorf International” in Ukraine was founded in 2003. Nowadays organization has finished the first SOS Children village in Ukraine in Brovary city, and also works out directly with family strengthening program. For today 59 children have already found their SOS mothers, brothers, sisters and caring environment.

The first SOS Children Village consists of 13 family houses in the city of Brovary.  There are 12 SOS-families with 59 children,  and before the end of 2012 the new loving home will be provided to 100 children from з 13 SOS-families.

Total quality of buildings is 16 houses. SOS families will share their good and bad moments, will help each other to overcome the problems and share their life experience. N the same time SOS children will not be isolated from the surrounding world, by the way of attending ordinary children gardens and schools.  Hereby SOS Children Village will serve as a heart of family life and in the same time as a bridge to the surrounding world.

One more activity direction of SOS organization is family strengthening, for it organization has provided special program.   This project provides giving support to those families who are in hard life conditions. For today SOS organization provides support to 475 children living with one parent, in many children families or families, who live under the poverty level^ 340 children in Kyiv and 135 in Brovary. Foundation helps such families with foodstuff, personal hygiene means, and constant psychological and pedagogical support. Due to it families realize that they are not alone when facing life troubles.
