SOS Children Village in the world

Today international nongovernmental charitable organization “SOS Children Village” works in 132 countries around the world, building houses and creating families, to provide light future for the children on the five continents all over the world. The first SOS Village was created in Austrian city Imst initiated by the Doctor German Gmeiner in 1949. This Village has become house for the orphaned children, whose parents have died during the Second World War.  After some time passed this initiative was supported by not only ordinary people, but also governmental bodies and commercial organizations, due to it SOS Children Villages has reached international level.                                 

Target of the SOS organization is to create families for children, who are in hard life situations; to help them to build their own future and to make contribution in the development of their communities.

There are a lot of important international organizations among the partners, who help International organization “SOS Children Village”. They are: United Nations Organization, European Union, Nongovernmental Organization Coalition and also national governments and nongovernmental charitable organizations of many countries. 

“SOS Children Village’  for over 60 years already has been taken care with orphaned children all over the world, due to more than 6 million friends all over the world, among which – sponsors, corporate partners, governmental organizations, founds and other nongovernmental organizations.
